Re: Petrol/Diesel

There's not much to discuss then is there? You're right and I'm wrong - or visa versa. If folk have nailed their colours to the mast already what's the point? If this is a pro SNP/Independence website I'm off...

Re: Petrol/Diesel

So how does one get an avatar in the first place? Is this a pro independence site only?

Re: Proposed Clachan Windfarm - Planning Application No. 11/

Well. there are big 'Yeses' on posters all over Oban. Don't you support it? (I'm off topic now but didn't start it!)

Re: Proposed Clachan Windfarm - Planning Application No. 11/

I take it the 'Yes' is for the BiD 4 Oban campaign?

Stone Skimming weekend

Can I assume that we all enjoyed the weekend? Lots of local businesses making lots of money? Lots of happy punters? Lots of happy residents?

Re: Proposed Clachan Windfarm - Planning Application No. 11/

Funnily enough it doesn't show what questions were used to judge if there was any bias or not.

And can I remind everyone of the OSCR investigation and our previous discussion: http://www.seilchat.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1113

Re: Stone Skimming cancelled

Of course, that was one of the main issues. I find it absurd that the chair of the charity appears to have refused to show the landowner the insurance policy to assure him that he has no liability. I'm sure all will be resolved in tomorrows news. They say any publicity is good publicity - and likely...

Re: Stone Skimming cancelled

You are correct - £1000 would be a good sum of money to be spent on the island. However, it seems that the only way such a sum, or indeed any money raised by the Stone Skimming event, will be spent to the benefit of the island is if Mr Feigenbaum charges for the use of his land. Out of the amount ra...

Re: Eilean Eisdeal investigated by OSCR

I find myself agreeing with the final post. Why is it that when a community attempts to flag up a serious problem and out of frustration resorts to putting experiences and knowledge on the web, it is called a "witch hunt"? Hopefully an independent investigation will resolve the problem soon.

Re: Easdale People

How strange! I hit the reply button just before making this posting and your reply came up in the message box, Jim. Something very strange is happening on this site! However, as for my reply; I thought Jim had already answered the question in a previous posting. i.e. that he had not been informed ab...

If I recall correctly, did you have a posting on the Easdale People that disappeared? If so, how did it get on and get taken off? Seems a bit strange.

Re: Easdale People

Well, I could be wrong, but it looks as if the posts on the Easdale People are not put up until they have been moderated whereas on this site they seem to go on immediately. If this is the case then perhaps whoever moderates it isn't glued to the computer as much as you are.

Only a suggestion.

Re: Birds

Some folk seem to forget that once upon a time people who rented affordable social housing decided to buy them and many then sold the houses to move on. Some houses were sold for a good price to second home owners. I don't think the sellers felt the need to keep the prices low so that other locals c...
