Meanwhile successive UK governments have failed to meet the UN’s target of spending 0.7 per cent of gross national income on aid for the last 42 years - a failure which led to ‘missing aid’ of £87.5 billion since 1970 according to House of Commons library research.
The SNP have said that it would enshrine the 0.7% target in law if it gains power in an independent Scotland.

In law !!!!!!
So when a future government of iScotland decides that rather than dosh out cash to India (which spends billions on its nuclear weapons and on its ventures into space) because people in Glasgow are starving who will prosecute us and what will our punishment be ?
At least the UK retains flexibility.
